After years of closely studying and observing human behavior; especially what I have learned from reflecting on my own, that we humans really try to stay in our comfort zones and attempt to conserve as much of our energy as possible, usually by engaging in habitual activities that have predictable outcomes in order to avoid using any further energy than necessary that would come with facing any unwanted obstacles/challenges; even if these habits are things which would, in the long run, be self-destructive and stunt our growth.
Now, what I stated above would make total sense in regards to actual physical activities which no one would want to do more work than it necessary to complete a task or achieve a goal, but I find that people also do this in regards to our mental activities as well. I believe that we literally try to avoid thinking about certain things so we don’t get tangled up in a world that would be full of unanswered questions that would make us feel very insecure. This is why I believe most people don’t care to seek out the truth in matters because, in most cases, the truth will bring much unwanted shifts in their reality and ruin their nice bubble in which they reside in. Because of this, I theorize that there is another form of evolution which is not of a physical nature, but rather, of a social-intellectual one which can only be achieved by those who wish to find the “truth”. I call it social-intellectual evolution, which is really a form of evolution that occurs when someone comes across various conflicting ideas, philosophies, information and forces them to choose which is true after experiencing these things in actual society while interacting socially with others; going through a trial-and-error phase in their personal life; enduring a long process of elimination; all of which taking place in the metaphysical world of their human mind, but has real consequences in the material world that they live in and experience.
Picture this world as a maze, and the “truth” lies at the end of the maze: Most people will never find it simply because they will give up; they don’t care enough to spend their time/energy on finding it; and they rather go back to their comforting life in their little bubble which they believe will not be effected by being ignorant to the truth. However, the phrase “ignorance is bliss” is a very stupid way of looking at life in my opinion. What you don’t know, can very well kill you, and most likely will. If you don’t know you have a tumor growing in your head, and only a few months to remove it before it kills you, no amount of wishful or thinking happy thoughts is going to save your life.
Unlike genetic evolution, the social-intellectual evolution is not limited to genes or DNA. Although there is much evidence that indicates an extremely strong correlation between genetics and IQ, social-intellectual evolution takes place on an intangible plane of existence, where the “mind” is an evolving living creature of its own; subjected to the challenges of multiple mental environments of abstract ideas, navigating the massive web of information with its imagination, and evolving by trial and error.
When it comes to our minds expanding or changing, it is not because new information was inserted into our DNA and caused our minds to change, but rather, it is bits of new intangible information which was received by the mind which it chose to change. Therefore, this type of evolution is a form of self-directed evolution that can be achieved by anyone who has free-will and the ability to reason. All of this is a fancy way to say “learning” but it is more than just that; it is about those who are constantly seeking to learn more than others; those who desire to continuously evolve mentally to improve their lives, which makes them become the fittest in this kind of social-intellectual evolutionary race.
As stated, this kind of natural selection is not caused by the environment, but rather, within the walls of one’s own mind when they discover new information. But the amount social-intellectual evolution also depends on whether or not the information is “true” or “accurate.” Anyone can learn something new and change their mind about a certain thing, but if that something isn’t the best or the most accurate truth in regards to that thing, then they will always be limited to the confines of the false reality that ensues. Thus, social-intellectual fitness is not just determined by the desire for one to actively seek the truth, but to actually have the truth.
The very few who are driven by curiosity and constant deserve to evolve mentally will evolve into more intelligent people; thus being able to most likely survive in the physical world as well. Naturally, these bright individuals will be able to contribute new things to our reality, and are the types of people who propel the human species forward. However, their contribution to humanity and where they will lead us all to depends on how accurate their information is. It is very easy for even great minds to adopt fallacious ideas that could drive humanity to oblivion, as we have seen many, many times before in our history.
Those who choose not to be “truth-seekers,” for whatever reason, will fall victim to false ideologies/beliefs, ensnared in traps that weed-out the weak minded from the strong, and will not evolve to their full potential intellectually. They will be left behind to “die off” with the rest of the ignorant people who chose comfort over truth. Now they don’t actually die in this case, but they are not going to evolve to any higher plane of understanding and will remain locked in their limited beliefs where they will basically stay the same mentally until their death. In other words, they will just be another average Joe with nothing but trivialities on their mind, living a repetitive life which I would consider worse than death itself, and most likely wage-slaves to more intelligent people.
Those with the greatest intellectual adaptations who are also able to discern fact from fiction and obtain the most accurate information, are more likely to survive and pass these truths on to their loved ones, colleagues, and allies. And I must stress again, IQ does not necessary protect someone from being selected against for being ignorant to the truth: Someone who has a high IQ can be too stubborn and set in their ways to venture outside of their comfort zones, and thus, could easily fall victim to the traps of an enemy who wishes to enslave their minds with weaponized ideology. An example of this are the great intellectuals who fell victim to the suicidal and destructive concepts of Marxism.
Sometimes the truth can be difficult to handle, which is why most people chose to avoid it totally or go as far as to even deny it. Being able to handle the truth means that one is able to fight against their own thoughts and clear the maze of ideas which conflict, without taking it personally or caring how invested they may be in a certain worldview or ideology.
Rewiring one’s mind to accept new, life-changing information is analogous to two males fighting over territory or a mate. In this case, the struggle is for the mind’s stability and victor takes all; the control of the mind, the body, and the life of the person. In a sense, abstract ideas are fighting for the territory of one’s mind, and if someone is unwilling to even reexamine their worldview and see if their information is actually false, this is what is known as cognitive dissonance. However, when the truth finally manifests in their reality, despite their attempts to avoid or deny it, it will shatter their egos and drive them into a depression or life crisis. At that point, they will either be forced to evolve and adapt or they will be destroyed.
But what makes one the fittest? Their ability to put emotions aside and look for the truth no matter where it may lead. This will separate them from the lower rungs of the ignorant masses; thus, leading them to a higher form of intellectual evolution; one that can only be possible with possession of the actual truth. Even if someone hasn’t found the ultimate truth yet, the fact that they actively seek it will be the driving force that will put them on the path towards socio-intellectual evolution. Seldom does one finds the real truth right away; it usually is a long process of continual research and analysis, and a process of elimination, but eventually people do find it if they want to.
It seems to me, after almost a decade of researching into the most taboo truths regarding various subject matter, I have found only a handful of people I know that are willing to go down the deepest rabbit holes, while the rest of humanity rather chew on the carrot on the stick. Well folks, that carrot won’t last forever, and I believe that in my life time (I hope) we will witness a massive shift in the social-intellectual evolution for the best of humanity.
