One of the biggest problems with obesity and other health related issues is the over consumption of sugar. People believe that fact makes you fat, but the truth is, any excess amounts of glucose (sugar used by the body for energy) that is not used by the body, is what is stored as fat. So if you are consuming tons of unnecessary extra sugars that your body doesn’t burn, it can be very deletrious to your health because it can lead to obesity and other problems like diabetes. I always tell people to cut out their sugary drinks totally from their diet, as they are absolutely unnucessary, and to replace them with calorie-free/sugar-free products that use the sugar substitute known as Stevia.
Stevia is derived from the sweet leaf plant native to South America and is an excellent substitute for sugar. I personally use the brand Truvia and actually find it way tastier than real sugar and also better tasting than any other sugar substitute; which are basically toxic poisons that are detrimental to your health.
The reasons why Stevia is so good is because its leaves contain two “glycoside” molecules, steioside and rebaudioside, which are 300 times sweeter than regular table sugar. This allows people to still enjoy sweets without spiking their insulin levels and compromising their health by using poisonous substitutes. So in other words, this non-poisonous, healthy alternative is not only sweeter than sugar itself, it has absolutely no negative side effects that come with high sugar consumption because it doesn’t spike your insulin levels rapidly.
Stevia isn’t a new thing either; it has been used as a sweetener in Paraguay and other South American countries for over 1,500 years. 40% of the sweetener market in Japan is estimated to be stevia-based and is also very popular in Asia and Australia. Some commercial beverages in this country are now using Stevia, such as SoBe, Lifewater, and Vitamin Water Zero. The Japanese have been conducting extensive research on Stevia since the 1970’s and have found it to be completely safe for human consumption after 40 years of research.
In conclusion, besides tasting good, Stevia has no calories, no carbs, no artificial ingredients, and no effect on blood sugar. It is the perfect for diabetics and people who are health conscious, and it is absolute perfect with a nice cup of coffee in the morning as well.
So if you are concerned that you are consuming too much sugar on a daily basis, give Stevia a try and I bet you will be totally satisfied.
